WSLA graduates celebrate Beyond Sport Award
Moving the Goalposts (MTG) Kilifi are one of four organisations who have been awarded the Beyond Sport 2020 Sport for Gender Equality Collective Impact Award.
The Beyond Sport Foundation established the Collective Impact Awards in 2019 to bring together the best and most innovative organisations from around the world that are using sport to address specific UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or Global Goals) to facilitate and fund collaboration to drive greater impact.
MTG is a sport for development organisation that harnesses the power of sport to overcome social obstacles girls and young women face in coastal Kenya. Four current employees and board members of MTG have been supported by the organisation to attend the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA):
Rachel Muthoga was part of the inaugural residential week cohort in 2014 and is a current board member of the organisation
Dorcas Amakobe is the Executive Director of MTG and attended WSLA 2018
Lydia Kasiwa is the Leadership Development Coordinator and attended WSLA 2016
Mourine Achieng is the Programme Manager and attended the most recent residential week in WSLA 2019
Dorcas told the AWF that she was excited and honoured for MTG to receive the award. A big congratulations from everyone at the AWF and WSLA to the team at MTG! To learn more about the Award and the winners, please view the video here.
