AWF-supported Golf Foundation programme offers leadership skills to girl golfers
Twenty-three girl golfers have benefitted from a Catalyst Grant awarded by the AWF to a project led by a Women's Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA) graduate.
Stacey Mitchell, the Girls Lead Officer at the Golf Foundation in the UK, helped to organise four online conference sessions of the organisations' 2021 National Girls Leadership Programme. The programme is designed to empower girl golfers as leaders, as they look ahead to possible careers and influencing their peers.
Stacey was awarded £462 from the AWF to develop the project. Four virtual sessions covered topics such as leadership, growth mindset, personal development, career themes, role models, and golf and the media. One of the sessions included an array of experts from the golf sector. You can read more about the project, including its special guests from the Ladies European Tour and testimonies from the girls who participated in the programme, via a dedicated article from the Golf Foundation website here.
All of us at the AWF congratulate Stacey and her team for completing this initiative in the current challenging circumstances.
